The staycation market is booming, and they understand the need to have a seamless digital journey. They have had some good results, but they know they can be better. That is why their vision is simple: to deliver the best possible digital experience by putting the customer at the heart of everything they do. They have got a number of long-established brands with a loyal customer base, supported by significant investment from their owner, Platinum Equity.
Awaze has a modern work structure with agile product teams and design programs. You will join the company in an exciting time, where a transformation and streamlining of the brands and products is the agenda in the company.
Awaze are looking for an experienced Product Designer, with a background in UX and a passion for creating persuasive designs across mobile, tablet and desktop. You will be working on beautiful designs for the rental owner facing platforms, whilst also helping to create a product-driven environment. Awaze wants collaborators who can help to nurture a culture of great UX, innovation and teamwork.
You will be joining a full-stack product team, working closely with a team of software engineers, product managers and analysts to design and continually improve owner facing web platform. You will need to be comfortable with understanding the needs of the property owners and their behavior, creating design recommendations founded on data and translating this into pixel perfect design.
Of course, it goes without saying that you will be responsible for everything from wireframing to prototyping, to delivering significant design updates and incremental experiments. We are not just looking for someone to sit behind the scenes, but someone who is comfortable being involved in user research and usability testing sessions too.
You will act as a subject matter expert, imparting your knowledge with the wider Product and design team. It is key that you have strong communication skills and a genuinely innovative approach to design.
You will be joining a passionate team, so it is key that you are enthusiastic, driven and keen to work effectively as part of a squad.
- You have experience within digital product design, gained either in-house of through an agency
- You must be a problem solver; they are rebuilding some of their platforms to address challenges they have had with legacy systems, so it is key you can analyze information and turn this into tangible design recommendations
- Ability to inform design choices based on quantitative evidence. Having experience with A/B testing and data from the likes of Google Analytics or Hotjar
- Ability to qualitatively test your work ensuring it is usable and delightful
- You will be comfortable working with wireframing and rapid prototyping tools, such as Sketch or Figma
- You are confident in your design and can influence others in the team
- You can demonstrate how your designs have contributed to commercial success
- You are naturally inquisitive, with a collaborative spirit for teamwork and sharing of ideas
Awaze is looking for someone who is hungry to learn and develop, as they do not believe in standing still (they work in travel, after all), but instead think that everyone should be learning, all the time. Whether it is a new technology, an industry event or a mentoring opportunity, they want someone who lives and breathes design, and who is eager to progress.
Why you should join
This is an opportunity for you to join Awaze at a pivotal time where they are investing in their product. You will be supported by team members, who share your passion for great design in an agile environment and you will have the freedom to inform the best way of working to get the job done. Awaze work cross-functionally, so you will be given opportunities to develop skills outside of your core skillset. Moreover, you will be an integral part of a team which makes things easier for their end users. They are investing heavily in their Tech and Product teams and have big plans for the next few years, so progression opportunities are almost certain.
You will be offered an exciting job in a dynamic and fast-growing technology-minded company with the opportunity of working alongside skilled and talented colleagues.
