Financial Planning & Analysis Manager for HAY
On behalf of HAY, we are looking for an experienced and strategic Financial Planning and Analysis Manager (FP&A), to provide financial management for a multi-market and multi-channel business operation. In the role, you will be responsible for the financial analysis, forecasting & strategic planning.
About the company
HAY was founded in 2002 as an innovative design company with the clear ambition of making modern and functional design objects accessible to a wide audience. HAY's continued vision is to create a straightforward, functional, and aesthetic design in collaboration with some of the world's most talented designers. HAY currently has 250 employees in Denmark and abroad, with 31 HAY stores in Europe, Asia, and the USA.
In 2018, a majority share of HAY was acquired by the American design company, MillerKnoll, whilst retaining the same company vision of collaborating with talented designers from all over the world to create functional and refined designs. At MillerKnoll, a unique culture represents the collective attitudes, ideas, and experiences of the people who work there. They focus on protecting the environment, impacting our communities, exceeding the expectations of our customers through high-quality products, and championing diversity in all areas of the business.
About the position
In the position, you will report to and support the Director of Finance at HAY, in managing the financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and business analysis. The role acts as the key finance partner across the HAY business on the day-to-day running of the business in its entirety (Retail, Wholesale & Contract businesses).
More specifically, this includes collaborating with the management team to provide strategic guidance, and sound business decision support through financial analysis and critical thinking. Furthermore, you will be influencing business strategy through forecast accuracy and business insights and ensuring qualitative and quantitative data insights to drive higher business performance. This also entails managing the Performance Management of the day-to-day business – including demand and margin optimization and improved efficiency identification.
As the role acts as the conduit into the MillerKnoll Financial eco-system, you will be supporting both the three-year Business Planning Cycle and the Annual Planning process, which includes KPI formulation and regular performance reporting.
You will be based in Horsens, Denmark, and work closely with both HAY's Copenhagen team and the global MillerKnoll stakeholders. Alternate you can work from Copenhagen with regular weekly commutes to the Horsens office.
The ideal candidate comes with a relevant academic educational background within finance or accounting, and preferably also holds an MBA in the field. It is also highly desirable if you are a Certified Public Accountant (CPA / ‘statsautoriseret revisor’). Furthermore, you come with at least six years of experience from a professional Finance position, preferably within a publicly-traded company.
You hold a strong intellectual curiosity, leading you to take a strong interest in the bigger picture. By virtue of your financial acumen and operational mindset, you are business savvy and can get things done. Furthermore, your entrepreneurial spirit leads to you being a creative thinker and a problem-solver. Additionally, it is an essential factor that you are purpose-driven and value-led – which entails demonstrated skills in leading and developing high-performing teams. As HAY is an international brand, it is furthermore imperative that you are bi-lingual in Danish and English.
As a person, you have sincerity and modesty about you that people at all levels of the organization will find approachable, open, and candid. You are a strategic-doer, and you can move quickly from strategy into action, whilst leading from the front and by example. To you, no job is too big or small and you manage your tasks with a 'whatever it takes' mindset. You lead by example and high performance – galvanizing people together, acting as a relationship builder and network creator. You see collaboration across teams as a signature strength and understand the value of a mutual trustful and respectful working environment.
Your drive to win will be off the charts – but not at any cost. You’ll lead with the sense of duty that permeates the corridors at both HAY & MillerKnoll – and it is imperative that you are making the right decisions today, for tomorrow. In other words, this means playing the long game by relentlessly out-gaming the competitive set.
