E-commerce Director for Wavemaker
On behalf of Wavemaker, we are currently looking for a strategic, data-driven and passionate E-commerce Director with an entrepreneurial mindset who will be at the forefront of the agency’s and clients’ digital growth journey. The new E-commerce Director will be trusted with an overarching responsibility for the digital strategy of some of Sweden’s largest advertiser’s E-commerce practices.

Wavemaker’s Stockholm office is located on Birger Jarlsgatan and is home to 65 people who love to work and create magic together, generating that little extra for their clients, to create real business results for clients. The new E-commerce Director will report directly to the Chief Performance Officer.
As the E-commerce Director, you are passionate about driving growth through digital solutions. In this role, your overarching responsibility is to develop, lead and oversee the planning, execution, implementation and reporting of digital strategies intended to drive growth in the eCommerce arena for some of Sweden’s largest advertisers. Together with digital strategists, client directors and other digital specialists from GroupM One, you will create industry leading performance strategies, develop conversion-driven campaigns and secure the quality of its implementation. In turn, this allows you to ensure that Wavemaker’s E-commerce-focused initiatives drive a true omni-channel experience for their clients.
While Wavemaker’s client base is wide and covers a diverse set of business, you will be trusted with the overall responsibility for all of the agency’s client projects that are concerned with digital commerce. With the goal of creating Wavemaker’s and their clients’ best future in E-commerce, you will work with key clients on their E-commerce growth strategy and activation plan to drive digital traffic acquisition and conversion. You will translate performance and result analyses into new strategies that optimize and secure interest and conversion, as well as deliver new business opportunities that drive future performance, evolution and growth within the digital commerce space. In this respect, you will develop and advance your experience in dealing with senior business leaders, ensuring the best ROI on their conversion-driven campaigns and acting as their main advisor for how to achieve growth on digital channels. Thus, your role as E-commerce Director will entail frequent client management, pitch-and ideation work.
From an overall perspective, you responsibilities will include:
- Define holistic E-commerce strategies, innovative digital solutions and activation plans for clients to maximize digital traffic acquisition, conversion and business growth through digital channels.
- Develop, lead and drive digital projects focused on E-commerce and ensure a positive and professional relationship with Wavemaker’s clients.
- Oversee the ongoing development of the clients digital investment across the purchase journey in order to ensure increased growth for the client as well as for Wavemaker.
- Challenge your clients to progress along with Wavemaker’s digital offering and support the agency’s positioning towards increased data usage, technological maturity and E-commerce presence.
- Proactively recommend and pitch services and solutions to help clients meet their challenges and succeed in digital commerce arena.
As the ideal candidate, you come with proven skills and acquired expertise in developing and implementing digital commerce and traffic acquisition strategies. It is required that you possess deep understanding and previous experience of working within the digital media and MarTech industry. While the position is primarily of strategic nature, it is highly advantageous if you have acquired hands-on experience of campaign planning, activation, traction and tools such as Google Analytics from previously held operational and/or specialist roles wihin performance marketing. It is also to your advantage if you come from a background working with E-commerce, whether at an agency, brand, consultancy or MarTech company. Equally important for succeeding in the role is that you exhibit an endless passion for the digital environment and that you valorize and understand the technical aspects within the area and its related systems.
It is essential that you possess solid experience with handling senior business leaders with the ability to present to an audience in an articulative and engaging manner, as well as develop close and trustworthy relationships with stakeholders. Being comfortable with pitching and demonstrating confidence throughout all your touchpoints with clients is vital. With high levels of enthusiasm, energy, positivity and integrity, you are fearless about questioning and disrupting the status quo with the intention to drive better outcomes for Wavemaker and clients. Furthermore, you possess exceptional communication skills, both in Swedish and English, as well as collaboration skills which you leverage in order to present new ideas with clarity and enthusiasm and get others onboard. You know how to get ideas executed and ensure that new initiatives are translated into actionable outcomes.
